I even thought of relieving myself of continuing this absurd journey, of returning to America and turning to work, as it was my last resort, of flattering Taya, of apologizing to Sandy. I wanted to do one thing without obeying anyone. I was fed up with myself and my miserable condition, and I found myself seeking excuses for Taya, for Sandy, for my mother of course, even for my father... We are all driven by life while imagining in ourselves the ability to change the course. *** He leaves America suddenly, hoping to obtain an inheritance with which to restore his broken life, but he finds himself forced to embark on a long journey through several countries.
