There was a wide interest in cinema in Egypt after the revolution of 1952, and most of the important works in the history of cinema have been translated - from then until now. There is no doubt that this is sufficient in the long run to contribute to raising the level of cinema and its affairs in general, including its criticism. But the duty of our film critics increases in the face of this widespread interest. At the top of their current duties is to unify the cinematic terminology used among us, both on the one hand and in Arabizing it. In our daily and artistic lives, we use Arabized terms such as: camera, montage, script, film, dubbing, etc. But we have translators who tend to translate these terms by finding an Arabic equivalent for them. Thus, the word "picture" is an alternative to the word "film," the word "synthesis" is an alternative to the word "montage," the word "tape" is an alternative to the word "film," and the word "interpretation" is an alternative to the word "dubbing." As for the word "screenplay," no one has yet found the word for it. A suitable Arabic equivalent for her.
