Felix & Belakana: Children Of The Druid

Felix and Belakana is the story of one Celtic tribe based on true events from the diary of Julius Caesar as he was invading Gaul, present day France. American students learn about Julius Caesar's conquests in a broad sense. Hopefully with this book, readers will get a sense of the impact of this time in French history. Felix and Bela, still tired from a restless night, went outside to breathe in the cool, spring air before Felix left for classes. Instinctively, they headed to the cap as they did on so many other mornings. They sat there staring at the sea, its familiar waves foaming as they hit the rocks below. Everything looked the same as it always did in early spring, the multicolored wildflowers predictably starting to bloom, the sea birds swooping and diving for their breakfast, the gulls nesting in the side of the cliff. But somehow, nothing felt the same to Felix and Bela that morning. The perfume of the sea air, usually fresh and invigorating, smelled like danger instead of renewal.
