Fate Gave Me Two Lives

My first life began in 1947 when I was born a twin into an Italian-American family in Brooklyn. As a young man, I was ambitious, eager, and impatient to fulfill my dreams of success in the business world. I married, got my MBA, and started a family. Then an insidious medical condition almost ended my life three times within a decade and left me disabled. It changed everything-how I measured success and what was most important to me.

My second life started in my 46th year when my medical condition forced me to stop working. As terrible as that was, it gave me the priceless gift of unrestricted time. Time to think and ask "What really matters in life?" Time to make my wanderlust dreams a reality.
