"My mom died in September. I'll turn 18 in December". This is the far edge of Seventeen. This is the story of how a wild, rebellious teenager deals with teenage alcohol use, sexual exploration while remaining a virgin, and the rejuvenation of her relationship with her mother who is near death. Then the coping after her death, the introspection and reflection on her young life and finally a brave trip to France to attempt to understand her mother better. Chloes' mother's religion, scientology, and her father's, Buddhism, weave their influence through her adventures and outlook.
