Facebook as a Tool for Popularising Astronomy

The teaching process is constantly changing and always seeks new solutions to facilitate the understanding and abstraction of concepts. With the emergence of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), social relations have changed in order to change the way the individual relates to the environment. In this scenario, Facebook is a social network that enables interaction between various social and cultural segments present in society. In Brazil, there are more than 136 million users who use Facebook. Despite its potential, this is a technology that is still little used for educational purposes. This social network presents some resources that can be used, for example, for the Popularisation of Science, especially Astronomy.
