The Fabulous Fanshaws of Clapham is led by the head of the family, known as Walter, who can trace his lineage back through the centuries to when his ancestors were knights of the realm. Unfortunately, the family fortunes have disappeared. They now live in a semi-detached council house and Walter works as a garage attendant. He traveled the world on business and acquired many stories along the way from his experiences in developing countries. He was awarded an OBE by the Queen in 1994 for services in developing UK exports. He now serves as an adviser and director on several public listed companies and is an adviser to the Prince's Trust, where he helps mentor aspiring young people.
