Exploding Jezebel

Exploding Jezebel presents a selection of recent paintings by Rafael Delacruz, a Bay Area-born artist now working in New York City. Drawn from the artist's "Tech Bum" series, (which envisions a future portrait of his native Bay Area), and also from the artist's personal imagery, Exploding Jezebel untwists a narrative universe of misfit characters in Paul Klee-like palettes and visionary hues. Delacruz's work presents a singular exploration of chromatic, painterly storytelling. Rafael Delacruz was born in San Francisco in 1989. Delacruz has recently shown work at Shoot the Lobster (Los Angeles), Goldies Gallery (New York), and Pilar Corrias (London). He lives and works in New York.
