Howard Keir was a talented photographer on the fast track from a purely academic life in the confines of a university fine arts studio- to a successful career as an artist for high fashion magazines. Three years later, he is an unknown short order cook at a truck stop outside of Jacksonville, Florida. Howard's days are spent tending to his abusive grandfather or visiting his only remaining friend, Ray. Long nights are manageable in smoke breaks and intimate conversation with Valery, a server struggling to pay tuition, rent and debt. Valery watches Howard's every move, longing to understand his need for absolute control over ultimate chaos.
