Erna's Norwegian food traditions

Food is tradition! Food and traditions belong together. Food is tradition, they say. Who hasn't sat at the kitchen table in their childhood home and watched their mother cook? A skill which she and women for generations before her have likely learned from their own mothers in a similar fashion. When my grandmother Erna passed away, at the remarkable age of 98 years, I was fortunate to inherit her old recipe book, including her box of old and new notes featuring recipes from friends and family, near and far. This patchwork of hundreds of small recipes has been created and collected over generations and form the basis of this book.
