Environmental Biology of Fishes

Interest in fish biology continues to increase, particularly with international concerns on the overfishing of natural fish stocks and aquatic pollution on one hand and the increasing interest in the biodiversity and conservation of fish species and the rise of aquaculture on the other. An understanding of what fish do and how they do it is vital to students, teachers and researchers in this area. This book provides an integrated approach to fish biology from a physiological and ecological viewpoint, by building on a general background on fish diversity and the environmental adaptations in fish through a discussion of physiology, anatomy, ecology and behaviour.
