Enniscorthy Poorhouse

The Poorhouse in Enniscorthy was at once the saviour and the hell of the poor, abandoned and marginalised in the region. The author, making use of his collection of documents, shows the reasons for being assigned to the care of the poorhouse, the names of families and people involved and the outcomes for some of those who lived there.
