The universe, where we live in is full of geographical dimensions. Our world has incorporated in itself, varied social, cultural, political, religious and economical aspects of specific significance. Undoubtedly, the world has diverse and dissimilar physical features and people have different complexions, different cultures and different ways of living. Different natures of soils, plateaus, mountains, islands, icelands, flora, fauna, water resources, river systems, landscapes, climate, monsoon etc., are our geographical assets and we are fortunate enough that we have such kind of possessions. Physical geography is the branch of geography that deals with natural features of the earths surface. Studying Physical Geography is not an easy task in the modern context. This demands separate books on selected topics. Hence, there is still a dearth for good books. This encyclopaedic work is in the same direction.
