The main purpose of this Encyclopaedia is to provide an easily readable outline of the industrial Relations in this country. it will serve mainly to assist students, trade unionists, employers, employees and those who have a professional interest in the subject. The second objective was intellectual and conceptual: to delineate and describe the subject matter and body of knowledge encompassed within the field of industrial relations and to articulate and describe its theoretical foundation, major positive and normative premises, and alternative schools of thought (of paradigms). As the reader will discover, to the present-day considerable disagreement exists over the boundaries and core subject matter of industrial relations. in part my purpose in this book is simply to bring these competing perspectives into fuller view to facilitate a more informed discussion and debate, but in part I also use these chapters as an opportunity to let the historical record speak on what is the correct definition and demarcation of the field. All the topics have been explained in simple language. The contents which merit attention are given in the form of points. The Encyclopaedia is an modest attempt by the author to present various industrial Relation Management Principles ought to be known. The law is explained as it stands, without an ideological perspective either in favors of or against employer or employees. it will be amply rewarded if this Encyclopaedia can contribute towards a better understanding of the industrial Relations in this country.
