Elementary Thermodynamics

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. In the metric system, which was established in France by law in 17 95, and is now widely adopted for commercial purposes, the standards of length and mass are the Metre and the Kilogramme, respectively. The Metre is the distance between the ends of a rod of platinum made by Borda, when the temperature is that of melting ice: the Kilogramme is the mass of a piece of platinum, also made by Borda.
