The' essential facts of the language are concisely stated, without the encumbrance of minute details, which would confuse their minds and impede their progress, and which be long properly to a more advanced stage of study. The tabular form has been adopted to as great an extent as possible, in order to exhibit to the eye what ever is capable of such a mode of representation. The Reading Exercises, which are of the simplest kind, have been carefully selected with a view to illustrate the forms and uses of different parts of speech, and especially the various classes of perfect and imperfect verbs; and they are accompanied by a special Voca bulary.
