Electrical Vehicles for Urban Transports

The electric vehicle has many advantages, yet its current state of technology is penalized by the weight of its batteries. To achieve identical energy to that provided by 60 liters of gasoline in a conventional vehicle, the batteries in electric vehicles can range from 900 kg to 3 tons, depending on the type of lithium or lead batteries. This book presents the current state of the art in the field, offering a thorough review of the functioning of the major parts of electric and hybrid cars. The authors also discuss possible future developments in academic and industrial laboratories.
