This volume consists of the analysis of ten publications that can be assigned to the genre of 'militaria literature'. The connecting element is their textual examination of the combat events during the final phase of the Second World War in the northern Eifel and in the 'Hurtgenwald'. In the first part Frank Moller undertakes a critical analysis and answers the following questions: What is the intention of the critically reviewed book and which target group should it address? What sources did the author use for his work? What is the content and historical picture of the author? What role does the illustration of the works play? What information about the author, complete works and publisher can be determined? In a second main part, the core statements and elements of the analyzed books are summarized as examples and lead to ten final key propositions.
