Death with pen long before he painted them. It is this relationship between the painter's own "poetic" texts and the motifs in THE FRIEZE OF LIFE that Arne Eggum set out to focus on in this work, and by juxtapositioning them he has added an important dimension to our understanding of Edvard Munch's art.
