Eddie gets a fright!
Eddie gets a fright is a beautifully illustrated story book with a very important life lesson: the importance of listening to parents and watching the time. The story also teaches readers about elephants and is set in the African bush.
Eddie is a baby elephant in the wild. His mother teaches him all about being a good elephant in the morning, and in the afternoons he is allowed to go out and play. All his mother asks is that he comes home before dark. Eddie enjoys playing in the river the most, so he often runs straight there to splash around in the water. He has so much fun that he always loses track of time and has to race home to get there before the sun sets.
One afternoon he forgets all about supper and it gets dark. Elephants have bad eyesight so Eddie cannot find the path home. But they do have good hearing and Eddie gets very frightened by the noises he hears. Suddenly, his father appears out of the tall grass to fetch him. Eddie finally understands why it is important to listen to his parents and to watch the time.
