Arriving in Britain in the 1960s, Neil's early life reflected the challenges faced by many in the Black community, yet his relentless drive pushed him past imposed limitations. His ambition resulted in outstanding academic success, becoming the first in his family to earn a BSc first degree and a post graduate PhD; securing a twenty-one-year career as a fast-track graduate with Shell International; then starting a business which he operated for almost twenty years.
