Dr. Maxwell Fox bemoans his lack of female companionship but saw no solution in the small town of Spencer City, Connecticut where he is currently practicing medicine. But fate gets a hand with the early arrival of Amanda Rogers' child.Susan Smith, a successful beautician and massage therapist, is visiting her old friend Marjorie Sellers when the nurse has to help deliver a premature baby at the Fox Clinic in the middle of the night.
