Do I Have to Vote Democratic to Help the Poor

Americas declineis it real? Whats causing it? Can we do anything about it? The Christian voice needs to be raised in all of life but particularly when the stakes are high. America is at an almost irreversible crossroads. Does God have a preference in our ways and what we do? In the Old Testament, landowners would not harvest the corners of their fields, leaving them for the poor to harvest. Interesting modelneed, compassion, giving, workquite different from the entitlement programs in our day. Are we leading people out of poverty? Are we creating incentives to work or not work? Margaret Thatcher said a rising tide lifts all boats. When the economy is strong, everyone benefits from the growththe rich, the poor, and those in between. What does God say or teach about capitalism or the free market in the Old and New Testaments? Does He say anything about Marxism? Are democratic programs to help the poor the only way to follow the Lords teaching on helping the poor? Are democratic programs really accomplishing what they are supposed to?
