The book is divided into three parts: Chinese and Western characters, cultural exchanges, and Western Sinology. The contents include: the newly discovered Huade Railway Company contract in the Xileba archives, the Baoxing system in the late Qing Dynasty and the Baoxing license in the Xileba archives, the Catholic Church in China in the Mongolian and Yuan Dynasties, the evolution of the Sino-European trade pattern during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the European impressions of the Chinese in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
