Development of animated maps

This thesis focuses on the development of animated maps using Adobe Animate. The objective of this text is to provide a summary of the useful functions and techniques offered by Animate for creating cartographic animations, as well as to describe the challenges encountered during the animation process. The theoretical aspects of cartographic animations are described based on existing literature, and a practical example is provided in the form of an MP4 file, which can be accessed via the following link: https: //vimeo.com/917305680?share=copy. The tween animation has a wide range of applications for cartographic content in Animate. It can be used to tell stories about topics, which is made visible by the animated map created. Ani-mating complex and sophisticated map visualizations can be challenging when using Adobe Animate. Animate is very helpful for animating simple map representations, but it quickly reaches its limits when it comes to multi-layered maps. For future analyses of the Adobe Ani-mate program, the use of interactive elements and sound effects would be of great interest.
