In the late 1800s, a small barrier island was located off the coast of Louisiana and was a popular resort for the socialites or New Orleans and surrounding areas. Dave Morgan saw Isle Demieres as his chance for a better life and his escape from the city where he lived with Mrs. Buckley near the red-light district of New Orleans. Dave's carefully planned trip happened to be the same weekend of the deadliest storm to ever hit the coast.
