Defensible Policies

Based on an FBI study involving face-to-face interviews with individuals who had murdered law enforcement officers, this book provides a guide to identifying where new police protection policies are needed and how to develop, implement, and defend them. Topics include writing and reviewing draft policies, training and enforcement, ongoing evaluation, and steps to take if an action based on policy comes under litigation. The book contains discussion questions in each chapter, case studies, and a discussion of expert witnesses and court testimony.
