L' art en jeu is a series of books designed to introduce children to 20th and 21st-century art. As the pages unfold, a Centre Pompidou artwork is revealed through images, questions, graphic surprises, and games-- an invitation to explore contemporary art in a playful way. Like an opera set, David Hockney stages The Arrival of Spring in Woldgate in a mysterious forest. As they turn the pages, children adopt the perspective of the animals within: What does the ant see, hidden in the wild grass? The fox lurking in the undergrowth? Or the bird perched atop the trees?
