Nach dem kurzzeitigen Interesse von Theologie und Religionspädagogik am Spiel in den 1970er Jahren gibt es heute zwar eine große Fülle an didaktischen Praxisanleitungen zum Spiel, aber keine religionspädagogische Theorie des Spiels. Das Spiel gilt heute in der Religionspädagogik weithin als Methode, nicht aber als Grundidee oder Prinzip.Dieser Bedeutungsverlust der Kategorie Spiel in der Religionspädagogik ist problematisch. Was bedeutet es für die Religionspädagogik, dass Spiel und Spielen zum Menschsein gehört?Dieser Band stellt das Spiel als bildungstheoretische Dimension der Religionspädagogik vor. Die Untersuchung bedeutender theologischer Dokumente – von der Bibel über Luther, Comenius und Schleiermacher bis zu theologisch-ethischen Entwürfen des 20. Jahrhunderts und aktuellen Diskursen – zeigt, dass das Spiel theologisch-religionspädagogisch recht verstanden eine Dimension menschlicher Bildungsprozesse ist.In the 1970s there was a short-lived interest in the theology and religious education of play; today there are a large number of didactic instructions concerning play, but no cohesive theory of play in religious education. Playing is employed in religious education as a method, but does not form a central idea or principle. The loss of importance of play in religious education is regrettable. How does religious education deal with the fact that play and playing are integral parts of human life? This volume looks at play as an pedagogical dimension of religious education. It investigates the most important theological documents – from the Bible to Martin Luther, Comenius, and Schleiermacher up to modern theological and ethical concepts and discussions, and shows that play is understood in theological and religious studies circles today as one dimension of human educational processes.
