Cycloaddition Reactions: Advances in Research and Applications

This volume complements the book titled Microwave Assisted Cycloaddition Reactions, which I authored in 2012, and it is a continuation of our long-standing scientific interest in cycloaddition chemistry. Cycloaddition reactions present a powerful tool in organic synthesis for the construction of cyclic organic molecules. These have been employed in numerous recent papers and covered in several monographs. Besides classical cycloadditions such as Diels-Alder reactions which are universally used by synthetic chemists, since the crucial paper by Sharpless the click reactions are gaining an unprecedented interest and use in synthesis, material and medicinal chemistry. Their importance is reflected in this monograph. The readers can find the contributions of eminent scientists to this volume which cover a broad range of cycloaddition reactions and their utilization in synthesis of (hetero)cyclic molecules of various sizes and structural complexity.
