Culture and dignity

In her important book, Culture and Dignity, the eminent anthropologist Laura Nader offers us an in-depth and critical study of the complex relationship between East and West. Instead of perpetuating the stereotypical image of a "clash of civilizations," Nader dives into the depths of history and culture to understand the roots of this ambiguous relationship. Nader employs a precise ethnographic approach based on historical documents and Arab and Western literary texts, analyzing the perceptions of the East and West of each other, and revealing the wrong assumptions and stereotypes that have distorted this relationship over the centuries.
