Count on Us Coast Guard Cutter Dependable

Ed Semler served on the United States Coast Guard Cutter Dependable (WMEC-626) from 2003 to 2005 as an officer and assigned as the assistant engineering officer and damage control assistant. He details day to day events on board the cutter and its involvement with law enforcement and search & rescue operations. This included numerous multi-million dollar drug busts such as the $274 million dollars in drugs found aboard the M/V Miss Mery Hill, search and rescue operations such as the sail boat Gaucho, and migrant interdiction operations in the Caribbean Sea.
