Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Business economics - Miscellaneous, University of Nottingham, language: English, abstract: Corporations are a vital aspect of human life. Though corporations make less than a quarter of businesses in the US, they contribute 80 percent of the counties sales, therefore contributing immensely to the economy of the US. More so, corporations range from small to large, depending on the nature and the capital investment of the corporation. The difference in size impacts on the corporations themselves, in that large corporations enjoy some advantages not enjoyed by small corporations. However, corporations not only contribute to the economic aspect of humanity but also have a social responsibility as well as environmental responsibility. The impact on the wellbeing of people and the contributions to the economy is majorly determined by their size, and ability to achieve sustainability (Benn et al., 2014). Nevertheless, large corporations fall for the lack of sustainable managerial systems. The present paper analyzes the role of cooperates in the society and their several responsibilities.
