Cleansing Muslims in India

Essay from the year 2012 in the subject Politics - Region: South Asia, Assam University, language: English, abstract: The Muslims in India's state of Assam in the country's north-eastern part is the second largest Muslim population after Jammu and Kashmir of the same country. Recent communal riots in Assam's some of the districts have left everyone shell-shocked. Lakhs of Muslims have been turned into refugees in a few days. Many, many have been killed. The reason explained by the Bodo ethnics of the same place, for targetting the Muslims in Assam have been shallow. The administration and the government has done nothing significant to control this one-way attack upon these simple and helpless Indian Muslims.
