Circuitous

A graduate student in psychology never suspects falling in love would lead to an even steeper fall into despair. With a taste of depression previously known to him only in textbooks, Philip, heart-broken over a failed romance with a fellow graduate student, struggles to emerge from a deep abyss, and filled with disenchantment, considers walking away entirely from becoming a therapist. And so begins a long and capricious journey of self-discovery, redemption, and numerous false starts before finding his calling once again. The dose of personal humility doesn't end there and is renewed daily for Dr. Grimes in his clinical practice as he is allowed access to the innermost and unimaginably painful world of his patients as they confront demons past and present.
