Karen Ezekiel is a political savant whose life descends into chaos after attracting the attention of a renowned public figure. The Honorable Judge Joseph Okaro, a lead candidate for the Nigerian Senate, coerces Karen into an illicit love affair. His wife, Joy Okaro, pays Karen to flee the country, but on the condition that she leave the child behind. Joseph, unaware of their arrangement, accuses Karen of child abandonment and blocks her from seeing the boy for six years. Emotionally distraught in America, Karen receives a diagnosis of cyclothymia. To heal old wounds, the past must be revisited.
