These photographs by Christer Löfgren capture scenes of daily life in China from the final stages of the Cultural Revolution in 1974 to the present day. Images from the 1990's witness the first steps in rapid development: bicycles completely dominate the streets of the big cities, and new buildings appear almost overnight. With the significant expansion of modernity in China today, we get a close-up of how people live, both in towns and in the country.
