For decades, the narrative of progress, institutional stability and modernization was repeated as if they were unquestionable dogmas. But the truth behind this narrative is bitter: the political, business and media elites have betrayed the people. They have sold sovereignty, turned politics into a family business, discredited the Armed Forces and handed over our streets to drug trafficking. The result is a country that is insecure, unequal and deeply distrustful of itself.
