Child Mortality as a Human Rights Issue

This book is an appraisal of Malawi's compliance with its human rights obligations to prevent and reduce child mortality. International human rights law provides a secure basis for the right to health for children in Malawi. Although Malawi has made progress to ensure meaningful realization of the right to health for children in line with its human rights obligations, child mortality remains an issue of concern. This challenges Malawi to do more to fully comply with its obligations by preventing and reducing child mortality.
