Changes and transformations in the nursing profession

Currently, the development of different theories and approaches to nursing have contributed, not only to define professional competencies, but also the very specificity of the nurse's functions in health organizations. Today, the nursing professional is taken into account as a member of a profession in change and in crisis, where he/she must position him/herself with the rest of the health team, on an equal hierarchy and importance, on the basis of self-reflection and formal criticism, distancing the professional from these cultural constructions that do not contribute anything good to his/her performance and esteem.
