Ceremonial Societies of the Quileute Indians

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Before proceeding to a detailed description of the rituals con nected with each of these societies, it will be well to describe at first those elements (membership, duration, paraphernalia,. Etc.) that are common to all; deviations from the general scheme, wher ever such occur, being pointed out during the description of that particular ceremonial which shows such distinctive features.
