Carbon Dioxide Emissions

This book examines new research in carbon dioxide emissions. CO2 is emitted in a number of ways naturally through the carbon cycle and through human activities like the burning of fossil fuels. Since the Industrial Revolution in the 1700s, human activities, such as the burning of oil, coal and gas, and deforestation, have increased CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. Topics discussed in this compilation include mitigating climate change and CO2 emissions; CO2-e emissions from best practice landfills versus compost; evaluation of the potential carbon dioxide emissions reductions from the use of CHP systems in commercial buildings; renewable energy technology sources to mitigate CO2 emissions; and allocating carbon dioxide and other emissions with exergy.
