"Candide: or, Optimism" - is the most famous work by Voltaire. This philosophical narrative at once became the world best seller, though for many years it had been banned because of the "obscenity". The main heroes - Candide, his girlfriend Cunégonde and tutor Pangloss - travel around the world.
