Bus Trip

Every day Johnny catches a bus to get to school and to go home. One day, as Johnny is going home, an older lady gets on the bus. She looks tired, and there are no more empty seats for her to take. When no one else will give the lady a place to sit, Johnny decides to stand up and give her his own seat. A few days later, Johnny sees the older lady on the bus once more. They sit together and talk a bit, and she invites him to her house to meet her grandson. When Johnny s friends tease him about his mate, however, he feels embarrassed. Should he go, or should he ignore the invitation? When he makes his decision, he learns an important lesson about good manners and the ways they can help you in life. In this children s story, a young schoolboy displays good manners to an older lady on the bus and earns a lifetime friend in the process.
