The burying-ground of Plymouth is, of course, a place of great interest to the citizens of the town and visitors from other places feel a sad pleasure in wandering among the tombs of past generations. A few of these tombs contain remains of the original adventurers; many are occupied by the bodies of their immediate descendants who were imbued with the Pilgrim spirit - worldly enter prise controlled and sanctified by fervid religious faith.
