65 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous Period eighty-five percent of all species disappeared, including the dinosaurs. This was the second largest mass extinction in Earth's history and numerous theories have been proposed to explain it, but none of them have been correct. Now there is a new theory. Geologist Derek Burdette and his seismologist and ex-power lifter friend, big Jeff "e;Mac"e; Mackenzie, embark on an ordinary camping trip in the North Carolina mountains. The camping trip turns into a scientific mystery when they have an alien encounter and stumble upon the real reason for the mass extinction of the dinosaurs.
