Broad Stripes and Bright Stars

Broad Stripes and Bright Stars was an exhibition of 97 artists curated by Aicha Woods and Dave Coon. The exhibition presented 60+ years of artists who have creatively responded to the American Flag. The exhibition highlighted both the indelible graphic power of the American Flag and its symbolic use in engagement, resistance, and resilience. The art and performances were on display from June 23 to August 13, 2017 at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art, New Haven, CT.
