British Social Movements since 1945

Since 1945, Britain's political and cultural landscape has been transformed by social movements campaigning on issues of gender, race, disability, sexuality, the environment and peace. This text traces the history of these movements alongside one another - from early attempts to decriminalize gay sex to the movement against globalization. It takes a comprehensive approach to social movements that should allow fresh insight into a neglected side of British history.
