A tough, mean, gritty, in your face narrative describing war from the point of view of the Privates, Spec 4's and Sergeants who form the tip of the spear. A young man from the Ozarks finds himself in the 11th Light Infantry Brigade of the Americal Division, in the early spring of 1969. "Learn quick or die" his Sergeant tells him.
