Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Ook love has ever been my passion; of B its beginning I have no recollection. Although its early opportunities to manifest itself were slight indeed, yet it seemed to me so natural and so very necessary, that as a child I thought everybody ought to be possessed by it in the same manner as myself. That any person could live indif ferent to the allurements of books was a matter of constant wonderment.
